"Editing is not a technical process; It is an Artistic process.
It is about Storytelling.
What editors do is the Final Rewrite of the script."
- Jack Tucker, A.C.E.
I am an award-winning Los Angeles based editor who graduated Summa Cum Laude from the UCLA Film School, and a certified editor on both Avid and Final Cut Pro 7. I grew up in Laguna Beach, California, and after raising a family, I have been a freelance editor now for 15 years in Los Angeles, CA, 90066.
My editing philosophy, while captured generally by the quote on my homepage and below, is more flexible in practice. I have learned that an editor can be like a co-architect of a house, and with the director/producer, we design and redesign until the final product is achieved. Other times the director/producer’s vision is clearly envisioned and my role shifts to more like a general contractor, or even a brick layer, building precisely what is requested.
So one of my strengths is flexibility in offering opinions, alternatives and options, but ultimately knowing that I provide the director/producer what they want as their final project.
